The U.S. economic downturn from the Great Recession ended in June 2009 and has since been in recovery. At 104 months, this is currently the third longest expansionary period in U.S. history and looks to have been given more fuel to becoming the longest expansion period. As it is said, all good things must come to an end, and with this recovery showing its age it is prudent to be ready for any potential downturn. Getting the timing of when that day might come is difficult, but preparing your investment portfolio is not.
