Month in Review – March 2024

March Highlights

  • Equity indices across the spectrum once again by and large posted gains for the month. 
     
  • With interest rates slipping a bit in light of the Federal Reserve’s constructive rate comments (please see below), bond prices were relatively stable versus the end of February.
     
  • Significant headlines for the month included the Federal Reserve keeping interest rates steady and commentary that members are awaiting “greater confidence that inflation is moving sustainably toward 2%” before cutting rates. Additionally, inflation statistics during the month tended to come in somewhat hotter than expectations.
